To obtain a quote, only the approximate width and height is required. After you agree to proceed with your order, a free measure, consultation, and color confirmation will be included within our trading area. Outside our trading area, a small travel charge may apply.
For do-it-yourselfers, the following guidlines can be helpfull. Because Hunter Douglas blinds and shades are custom fabricated to fit your window, precise measurements are required.. The dimensions you give on our order form for any window covering must be exact to properly fit the intended window opening. Window Wares will not be held accountable for incorrect measurements.
Rectangular Shades
Standard measuring procedures apply to the following types of rectangular shades.

Measuring for outside mounts (OB)
1. Measure the desired width and height. To minimize light leakage, the shade should overlap the window opening at least 2" on each side and at the bottom.
2. When measuring the height, take into account the requirements for mounting the bracket attachment. |

Measuring for inside mounts (IB)
1. Measure the width inside the window opening at the top, middle and bottom.
2. Measure the height inside the window opening at left, right and center.
3. Always round down to the nearest 1/8".
4. Order the narrowest width measurement and the shortest height measurement.
5. Be sure the window opening is deep enough to install the mounting bracket. |
